Kristee was our wedding planner for our Nov 2018 wedding in Tulum. Planning a destination wedding is extremely nerve wrecking & requires a great deal of trust in your wedding planner. My first call with Kristee, I knew she had the knowledge, experience & Will to bring my vision to life. She is honest, she will stay within budget, she will give you options, she asks the right questions, & is simply an amazing person. Her energy is magnetic. The day of went off without a hitch, I was so impressed with Kristee & her team, the vendors she works with, Everything flowed perfectly. Kristee, I can’t thank you enough for putting together the wedding of my dreams. We had so many compliments from our guests, Thank You Thank You Thank You!

Having a destination wedding can be totally nerve wracking, but not with Kristee. From our very first call to our very last communication she calmed our nerves with constant professionalism, enthusiasm and her killer personality. We were at total ease throughout the entire process. 

What we loved most about working with Kristee was her attention to detail, and the fact that she gets to know you, your vision and your styles…wraps it all up and runs with it, with total excitement (even if the ideas are ones she’s never done before. Ie Bubbly bar and Entry way doors 🙂

Of all the Wedding planners out there, Why work Kristee? The answer is simple. You simply won’t find another person that is as dedicated, passionate and dependable as her. I firmly believe that this is her true calling in life and it shows through and through. And the cherry on top? She’s one of the most cheerful and positive people you’ll ever meet, which comes in really handy for your bridezilla & groomzilla moments. As two busy executives, having a “low stress” wedding planning processes and a “stress-free” wedding was a top priority for Eric & I.  

We  met Kristee down in Tulum and we instantly knew we had to work with her. We loved that we didn’t have any language barriers with her and that she was always on-top of things (highly responsive to emails, etc). Later on we found out that unlike other planners in the area, she only takes on a few select clients each year which allows her to really focus on delivering your dream wedding. She had the wedding planning process so dialed in, that I distinctly remember 3 weeks before the wedding **everything** was done. I was basically sitting at home twirling my thumbs because every detail was already accounted for and gosh I loved that. Fast forward to our Wedding day. We woke up to a massive down pour of rain (not exactly “ideal” weather for the dream beach wedding that we’d been planning for over a year). Naturally, I was a bit bummed but I distinctly remember that I didn’t worry for a second about the ceremony or reception details because I was sure Kristee was already executing on our Plan B. And as luck would have it by early afternoon, the clouds parted and the beautiful sun came out. And I married the love of my life on the beach with beautiful pampas floral arrangement and 80 of our closest friends and family surrounding us just like Kristee had promised me. Fortunately, Kristee had the foresight to check the hour by hour weather report that day and she had already moved the dinner/reception inside because by the time dinner rolled around, the tropical rain hit again. But fortunately, all of our guests were busy enjoying dinner inside the palapas and everything went w/o a hitch. 

I can’t tell you the number of guests that came up to us that night and in the months that followed to say this was the most memorable & fun wedding they’ve ever attended. To top it off, I recently found out that a well known wedding magazine wants to feature our wedding and showcase the beautiful work she did for us. I feel so incredibly lucky that we found Kristee because I know for certain there isn’t another planner that could’ve delivered the way Kristee did. She truly puts her heart and soul into your special day. There is only one thing I regret and that’s the fact that I can’t do it all over again next year. Seriously, I keep telling Eric we need to do a second wedding. He’s promised me an anniversary party in 5 years and well I guess you know who I’ll be calling. So there you have it. If you’re looking for someone that will care as much as you to see your dream vision come to life and to make sure your wedding day goes without a hitch, say hello to Kristee. She’s your gal. 

Where do I start?! Our wedding at Akiin Beach on 2/17/18 was unforgettable as all our family and friends keep telling my husband and I. Kristee guided me every step with suggestions when I was completely lost or unsure of ideas. She went above and beyond to help in any way she could when an unforeseen circumstance occurred a few months before the wedding! She searched high and low for specialty liquor we wanted for our signature drink that held a special place in our hearts! She was so professional, so sweet, and having a destination wedding I was worried about a planner being unresponsive since we had never had a face to face conversation, but Kristee put me at ease every step of the way and quickly responded to all emails. I am just so thankful we found her. Thinking of a wedding in Tulum, BOOK HER!!! You will not regret it! Thank you so much again Team Fresa!

If you are looking for an amazing, magical, special, wonderful and beautiful wedding then look no further than Kristee Smith of Fresa Weddings! My daughter decided that she wanted a destination wedding and so she landed on Tulum as the location. She throughly researched different wedding planners and Kristee’s name kept coming up. In November 2016 my daughter, her fiancée and I had a conference call with Kristee. We had so many questions and she answered all of them and put our minds at ease. She was so comforting to me on that call and I knew that we had made a great decision to hire her. Then we started planning for the February 2018 wedding. Boy does time fly! We had so many visions in our minds and Kristee brought those visions and many more to reality. Being the control freak that I am, I was involved in everything. I sent so many emails to Kristee and each and every one was answered in a prompt manner. Kristee has a wonderful eye for detail and nothing goes unnoticed. I think her favorite part of planning has to be the flowers. Oh, the flowers!! For the life of me I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many at a wedding. It was like walking into a floral warehouse. Just beautiful. The wedding was on the small side, 45 guests at Akiin Beach Club. Very private. All of our guests had so much fun and they ALL danced the night away. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a wedding where literally every single guest danced all night long! I lost count of all the guests that came up to me to tell me it’s the best wedding they have ever been to and I think they truly meant it. It’s been a week now and we are still on cloud 9, constantly looking at the pictures. The pictures just don’t do it justice because I have never seen anything so beautiful. It was clear to my husband and me that Kristee and her staff worked tirelessly to create the best wedding possible while staying within our budget. We feel that we got our money’s worth and so much more.

My goodness, not sure where to start! I am not the bride who has dreamt of her wedding day since I was a child.. I am not detail oriented, nor am I creative. When Kristee and I met, I told her I just wanted a fancy fiesta full of bright flowers, an ocean breeze and plenty of alcohol. She executed everything to.a.tee!!! We decided to have our wedding at a destination where we both never have been before- Tulum, Mexico. We definitely needed a wedding planner who was local to the area and we were glad to have stumbled upon Kristee at Fresa Weddings. We first looked at Fresa’s website and loved the work they have done for previous weddings. We contacted her for availability and Kristee was very prompt at responding back to us. We can’t express how happy we are with Kristee and her team at Fresa Weddings! When you think of your dream wedding and dream day you think it can be perfect. What you don’t imagine is that it can actually be better than perfect. Kristee and her team are beyond your wildest imagination and exceed perfection. From the moment I first contacted Kristee (pre-engagement might I add haha) she was so excited and enthusiastic about what I envisioned for my big day. If you are looking for someone to help you plan your wedding in Mexico from a distance who already has great venders they know and trust, Kristee and her team are your people. It was so important to me to not only have a team helping me plan my big day from far away but that my wedding itself was unique! I didn’t want it to look like every other beach wedding I had seen and Kristee does just that. She worked with me (a lot) going back and forth on all the details and design elements until it was perfect. Kristee with Fresa Weddings is truly one of a kind! I don’t think I can ever find the appropriate words that will do her justice for how amazing, organized, energetic, full of unique ideas, caring, and overall AWESOME she is and was for me through the whole planning process up to the wedding day. I stumbled across the Fresa Weddings website when researching destination weddings in Mexico and knew immediately that I HAD to be a Fresa bride! (Have you seen their gallery?! Heart eyes emoji!) I can honestly say that the entire planning process was pretty easy. Kristee is super sweet and quick to reply to emails/questions. I sent her pictures of what I envisioned and the vibe I was going for, we had one phone conversation and boom!, the wedding of my dreams occurred! Every detail was perfect, the flowers were absolutely stunning, and every guest was raving about how our wedding will be really hard to top! We stayed at an all-inclusive resort and witnessed numerous weddings throughout our trip and are SOOO happy with our decision to have a private wedding! How do I begin this review when I have so much excitement to spill out all at once of how unbelievably amazing Kristee Smith and Fresa Weddings is. Kristee is my angel and savior and even that is an understatement. She defines dedication, excellence, hard work, compassion, support and perfection. I am forever grateful for her and her remarkable team.

She took a chance with me and that says a lot. Allow me to explain. I was referred to Kristee by my best friend who had her as a resource in Mexico to help find vendors for her wedding. Our emails started off by me asking for advice on where to go, who to contact and how to make a destination wedding a success and the entire time she was an enormous help and very kind. I was beyond lost and she came to my rescue. After just a couple of conversations, I felt so connected to Kristee. She has this ease about her that makes planning a wedding a pleasure. She agreed to be my wedding planner despite her not working out of Cancun which is where I was getting married. That alone should tell you a lot about the beautiful person that she is, hence why I call her my angel and savior.

I embarked on the wedding planning journey with a person that turned out to be a friend. There aren’t enough words to praise Kristee and thank her for making our dream wedding a reality. From simple emails to check in on me and my well-being all the way to hour longs calls and elaborate layout and design emails, she was ALWAYS present.

The whole wedding planning process from first contact to the day we said “I Do”, flowed so well and made me feel so confident. Kristee cared deeply about ALL of me during our time working together. I wasn’t just another client. Her devotion to the bride and groom deserves great admiration. I will end with this, there were bumps in the road with other vendors not related to Fresa Weddings and it poured on our wedding day and our wedding was outside; despite all of that, Kristee was my rainbow after the rain, my hope and my guiding force to making our wedding the best day ever.

Kristee, you are such an amazing wedding planner and we are sooo thankful and proud to have you planned our wedding.
When we first met in Playa Del Carmen, we knew right away you were the right person to be our wedding planner. You were just so easy to talk to, you understood what we were looking for in terms of location and were honest in terms of what you think fits us vs something that just looks good.

I had sooo many questions and you were always responsive, patient and detail in your answer and this professionalism continued until the day of our wedding. You really put in the effort and thought through what we needed for the wedding, what’s missing, what fit and didn’t.

The wedding was soo beautiful, we really couldn’t have asked for more. Even to this date, I looked at pictures and am still awed!! It’s hard to believe that was our wedding!!!! Love Love Love!!!! Did I say Love? Everyone loveedd our wedding (including those with expensive taste)….the flowers, the décor, the lighting, the furniture, the dance floor…. It was just WOW!! I remembered looking at the décor the night of the wedding and said to myself “This is how I pictured it to be….but more”. Two months later …guests are still talking about how amazing our wedding is!!! People even complemented on how friendly and accommodating your staff are. Ahh Kristee, I have nothing but good words and compliments for you and your team!!!

For DIY brides out there….I HIGHLY recommend having Kristee in your team. We brought our DIYs too (about 10 different items – which is a Lot!!), but there is no way we could have put them together the way Kristee does. And trust me the last thing you want to worry about that day is how the décor comes together….and you do not want to stress your family and friends with this task either. This lady really GOT IT!! She understand what your wedding style is, and will put together something that you are gonna love!!

I have to say that we are soo lucky to have found Kristee online (through a website that she does not even use anymore). For any couple, destination or local, who wants to have a memorable wedding, you need to have Kristee on your team.

Our wedding in Mexico was everything we could have wanted and more, Kristee and the Fresa team were the ones responsible for making it happen. Upon meeting Kristee for our venue search we got a great vibe from her. She took us to the venues we asked to see and we eventually settled on Grand Coral Beach Club. Planning a destination wedding isn’t the same as an in town wedding, especially when you’re planning in a totally different country. Kristee was up front about the obstacles we would encounter along the way due to the location of the wedding (Mexico). When we ran into any of these obstacles Kristee resolved each situation quickly and to the best of her ability.

Possibly one of the most impressive things about Kristee was her ability to instantly understand and relate to my wife’s vision for our wedding. Kristee worked hard to see that we had everything we could have wanted for our big day. The ceremony site was absolutely beautiful and the decoration of the venue was even better. Kristee’s demeanor was always professional, helpful, and supportive. She has a true talent for what she does and our wedding is still talked about as the greatest party ever by our friends and family.

Thank you Kristee and Fresa for giving us the best wedding we could ever hope for.

We could not have wished for any one else than Kristee and her team to help us plan our wedding in Tulum! From the first skype until the wedding – and even after – she was and is always available, very fast in responding and always concerned that everything is well. I had the feeling to be her only bride 🙂 Our wedding involved a year planning and about 100 guests from 12 different countries, which it was so fun and exciting and one week before our big day when we finally met again we were just so happy. Kristee took care of absolutely everything, we could simply enjoy a week of holiday with our family and friends and let the wedding day come! It was just beautiful, it turned out like we imagined it and even if we unfortunately weren’t able to entirely respect our budget and a couple of tiny things were not exactly the way we planned, nobody noticed and we had the most wonderful day. Akiin was the best choice we could have made and with Kristee’s touch it looked just breathtaking. She even helped us setting up our self-made photo-booth which was a big hit! Our guests had an amazing time and are still talking about all the fun and love-filled moments we experienced together. For any couple who is thinking about getting married in Playa or Tulum, go to Kristee, she will make you feel calm, safe, happy and excited 🙂 a million thanks to Kristee and her team for making our day so perfect!”

Kristee saved my wedding!!!   My wedding was scheduled for late November 2014 at the Hilton Cabo San Lucas, which was destroyed by Hurricane Odile about 60 days before the wedding date.   Cabo was out. We didn’t want to change the date, and we had 40+ guests with plane tickets, and a few “musts”:

1) No mega-resorts or all-inclusives

2) Beach-front ceremony

3) A fun and relaxing event for our nearest & dearest who were willing to honor us by joining in this special event

4) Direct and reasonably short flight from DFW.

Cancun seemed our best bet. After talking to a few wedding planners in the Cancun area, I lucked upon Fresa’s website, and immediately got a great vibe. Kristee seemed to specialize in exactly the type of ceremony I wanted.

After a few phone calls and emails, I knew I had gotten really lucky.   We were able to reserve at the Omni Puerto Aventuras, and from there, Kristee worked out every single detail. Transportation, photographer, videographer, hair & makeup, flowers, dj, welcome event at a local bar, rehearsal dinner at a nearby villa on a cliff overlooking the ocean, all the décor for the ceremony and reception and other events too. Every single vendor that she put me in touch with was outstanding. And there were so many great extra touches – for example, we had about 12 kids at the reception, and she brought out glow sticks and balloons for them; they LOVED it.

She asked me questions about what I had in mind, and then sent options that were fabulous. She kept me informed about budget at every step of the way, and any time I felt something was more expensive than I wanted, she was quick to provide alternatives. There were NO unpleasant surprises.

Her attitude, and that of her entire staff, is the best example of customer service that I have ever dealt with. Her passion for what she does shines through. Every one of my guests commented to me that “your wedding planner is incredible”. And she is.

As stressful as it was to have to start over with wedding plans 2 months before the date, I truly feel that we ended up with an event so much better than what I had originally scheduled. And I give 100% of the credit for that to Kristee and her team. She created a magical event for us, and we are forever grateful.

Kristee, Happy 1 year Anniversary of our amazing Tulum wedding! I still get goose bumps when I recall our big day. It was magical in every way!

Let me start by saying, you are a ROCK STAR! Not only are you an amazing wedding planner, you are truly a wonderful being. I knew from the 1^st day we skyped that you were on my team and certainly someone I could call “my people.”

You made planning our wedding effortless for us from start to finish. You are kind, creative, down to earth and funny. You were assertive when you needed to be. You understood our budget, and helped us stick to it. You took my random calls when I needed a sounding board. And you helped me design the most perfect wedding for Steven and I, totally us and totally our vision.

You went the extra mile is so many ways. When we finally got to meet you in person in Tulum, I was sort of nervous and you said, “have a margarita girl and relax, it’s handled.” That felt amazing! We got to hang with our family and friends the days before the wedding and just chill. Be on vacation while all the details got taken care of. Steven and I did yoga and went for a swim the day of our wedding. That’s how blissed out we were. How many brides get to say that!

Our wedding day was flawless. So many sweet unexpected touches and surprises. When we walked into Akiin, we were both in total awe of how you totally captured our vision and then took it to the next level. We could not have asked for a more beautiful space, ceremony and reception. You even had our “taco cart” personalized with our names and wedding date on the front. Loved it!

Every concept I offered up, (we opted for a on the beach lounge type look) you met with excitement and vigor. I felt you to be on my side the entire time. All of your suggestions for music, flowers, food and décor were spot on. Our guests had an amazing time and we are still telling funny stories of dancing for hours in the rain and just having the time of our lives.

Kristee you are one of a kind and I am so grateful to have stumbled upon you. For any couple who is looking to get married in Tulum, Kristee is your woman! She is on it! And I hope you feel, as we did, totally at ease, secure and celebrated.

Thanks to Kristee and her fabulous team at Fresa, our wedding day was pure joy beyond anything I could have imagined!

Kristee has an energetic personality that shines with passion for her work. She offered the perfect harmony between detailed organization and impeccable design… In the end she completely exceeded our expectations!

During the planning process – Kristee brought great energy, encouraged my creative ideas, tackled all the nuts and bolts and was always available for swift communication regardless of the distance.

During the wedding weekend in Mexico – My husband and I we were able to relax into beach mode upon arrival, spending time with our friends and family having margaritas, focusing on the celebration rather than the details leading up to our big day. The Fresa team, on the other hand, worked hard to create the perfect rehearsal dinner and wedding day back to back. She worked overtime, starting at 2pm for the rehearsal dinner and not wrapping up until 11pm. The following morning she turned around and was at our wedding venue at sunrise and didn’t leave until midnight!

Our friends and family are still gushing about the wedding. Each vendor amazed us with their talents and exceptional level of service, starting with the brilliant hair & makeup team of Beso Brides, to the insanely gorgeous flowers by Vanessa Jaimes, the jams by DJ Diego that kept the dance floor packed all night, wrapping up with Akiin Beach Club team that prepared our gourmet feast served by their outstanding staff – the whole event was perfecto!

I think the best complement a bride and groom can receive is how they exude happiness and joy on their wedding day – that was easy for us, we didn’t have a single issue, instead we were in constant wonder knowing how lucky we were to call this extraordinary party our wedding. We were nothing but smiles, consciously savoring each blissful moment of our day… and I really have to thank Kristee and the Fresa team for making it possible!!

From the start Kristee and Fresa Weddings has been incredible to work with!  Kristee has been prompt at emailing me back with my many questions. She really tried hard and thought of different ways to help me keep the my budget in check. We had our wedding at Akiin beach club in Tulum and the setting was absolutely breath taking. As soon as we got engaged we made up our minds that we would have a destination wedding in Mexico and the planning ensued. Although we wanted to have a destination wedding, we decided against a resort wedding as we wanted to plan a wedding that was specific to our style and taste.

We performed an extensive search to ensure we were hiring the right wedding planner to help plan our perfect wedding. We considered selecting the wedding planner as our most important decision and thus took our time and left no stone unturned in conducting our search. We reviewed all potential wedding planners in the area by reading hundreds of reviews, looking through wedding pictures, scanning multiple wedding forums, comparing biographies and even went as far as conducting interviews for our favorites. Hiring Kristee, the Fresa team and their entire network of wedding vendors was the best decision we could have made. Now that our wedding has sadly come to an end, looking back we have absolutely no regrets working with Kristee over the past year planning our wedding.

Kristee and her team stood by our side from day one of planning and had a very methodical and organized approach to ensure every little detail was addressed. Since we were not visiting Mexico in advance of the wedding, Kristee successfully coordinated and assisted in every single wedding detail from suggesting guest accommodations, communicating with wedding vendors, organizing guest transportation, setting timelines, providing wedding day itineraries and much more. We had a vision of the type of wedding we wanted, but Kristee was the one who made this vision a reality by constantly exchanging ideas and what would work within our budget. Kristee always responded to our questions and concerns in a clear and timely fashion and kept us on the right path.

During our planning, we also decided to host a welcome party for all of our wedding guests the night before our wedding. We originally decided to plan this at the resort with the resort’s wedding coordinators, but soon realized that we needed Kristee’s help. Not only did Kristee plan a magical wedding for us, but the Welcome party was set at a private villa overlooking the ocean with a very chill beach theme which was exactly what we were looking for.

The morning after our welcome party and wedding, we had multiple guests come up to us to let us know that the night before was “epic” and some of the most fun they have ever had and they were not even the ones getting married. Kristee and her team executed our welcome party and wedding with perfection and looking back can’t believe all of the special little details that were incorporated. The décor, scenery and attention to details were 110% above and beyond what was promised to us over the last year and strongly recommend Kristee and the Fresa team for any future wedding.

I simply cannot not say enough wonderful things about Kristee and the Fresa Weddings team! My husband and I originally planned on getting married in Texas where all of our family lives but we ultimately decided on our favorite place, Playa del Carmen! The thought of planning a destination wedding was a bit daunting in the beginning, but then enters Kristee. I should also add that I reached out to a few different wedding planners and Kristee is the only one who responded the same day, and boy am I glad she is the one who did. From the first time we chatted over Skype I knew my search for a wedding planner was over. Except in my opinion, Kristee is more than a wedding planner–she becomes a friend in the process and truly cares about YOU and every detail that goes into making your day everything you have ever dreamed of.

Mexico tends to function at its own pace, yet Kristee is all about what works for you. She is extremely interactive (and always so enthusiastic, it’s infectious!) via email and Skype and responds to every single email/ idea–you can only imagine how helpful and reassuring that is while planning a wedding from a different country.

If you are considering getting married in the Rivera Maya area and are at all apprehensive, don’t be….you just need Kristee! So many of our guests said it was “the best wedding I have ever been to!” and that was all possible because of Kristee and the Fresa Weddings team.

It’s funny how in today’s world we are heavily reliant on reviews and so quick to post negative experiences.  However, we often forget or prolong to state the good. Good does not even half way sum up our experience with Kristee and the Fresa Weddings team. They are PHENOMENAL.  After emailing with a couple other wedding planners, my husband Kevin found Kristee who almost immediately responded to our inquiry and set up a call for that same week (meanwhile she was traveling but somehow still squeezed us in).  We were hooked from the very second we exchanged hellos.  She even made me cry—in a good way because she asked how we met and emotion just overcame me.  She gave us more than enough information and extremely helpful suggestions to book our first site visit which was a year before the actual wedding date.

Kristee came to pick us up at our hotel and spent an entire day with us showing us around Playa del Carmen and ultimately the hidden gem of Puerto Aventuras where I immediately fell in love with the chapel.  It was very important to us to have a catholic wedding and she made it another priority to show us around all the catholic churches that were available even though Mexico is pretty strict about not allowing wedding planners to facilitate the actual wedding process.  That came to be a bump in the road later on in the wedding planning process but she grabbed the reins and helped us out with that as much as she was allowed to do.  Ok back to first site visit!  We went to 3 different locations and she had pictures and all the information like pros and cons attached to each place. Afterwards she drove us back to our hotel and she expertly suggested we sleep on it and she would pick us up the next day to visit the properties again.

We chose Puerto Aventuras because we fell in love with the little village, the church and the Omni.

The year leading up to the wedding was filled with daily emails(no exaggeration), skype calls, Pinterest ideas, etc etc.  Kristee responded to EVERY single one and in depth.  She answered all my questions with in depth, calmed my worries—I often joked she was my 2013 BFF but she really became that–she just totally got our vision and would even send a bunch of options/suggestions/pictures etc etc.

Another thing I loved about Fresa was when it came down to making final decisions she gave us pricing based on our first option but then without asking would give us pricing on alternatives/backups.  Oh and she stayed within and always kept our budget in mind!  We went over our budget (who doesn’t! lol) but only because this was our choice and wanted some add-ons etc.  She went on to help us plan activities ie/catamaran ride, rehearsal lunch AND welcome party.

We held our welcome party at a beautiful villa Casa Mariposa, within walking distance from the Dreams PA hotel.  This was a last minute decision and she literally helped us get a food vendor, décor, theme etc within 2 weeks.  We had a white themed party asking our guests to wear all-white but the décor/theme was Mexican Fiesta.  Vibrant colors, Mexican music—it was a hit and all our guests raved about it!

The next day was wedding day!!!!  I wouldn’t have changed A SINGLE THING.  They know when to take charge and most importantly get it done right.  I really wish I could write down every single example—but there are too many!!! It would literally be a daily diary of 2013!

The week of our wedding had forecasted rain everyday and she sent us a random email with this quote:  “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass…It’s about learning to dance in the rain”  I had heard it before of course BUT it was the best reminder that rain would not ruin our day.  Kevin used this in his speech thanking all our guests and we found it and now framed in our bedroom.

Fresa Weddings’ work made our wedding week the most memorable experience.  Their professionalism was on point but I loved how ‘business’ became familiar and in the friendly sense—they are extremely organized and attention to every single detail is impeccable and not unnoticed.

Summary of Pros:

• Quick response
• Constant communication
• When she was busy, she took the 30 seconds to shoot me email saying so and would tell me when she would respond and never failed
• Gave HONEST opinions
• Awesome and reasonably priced vendors
• Superior attention to detail
• Trustworthy—this is really so important when dealing with a wedding planner in a foreign country.  Kristee/Fresa always had our best interests FIRST and that was always shown

Cons:

• There are no cons when you have Fresa weddings planning your special day!

As I’m writing this I realize how much I miss the daily emails and even getting a little emotional reliving and remembering everything— we still keep in touch and I know we have gained a lifetime friend, too =)
If you are planning a destination wedding/vow renewal ANYTHING in the Riviera Maya area—do not even search further—FRESA WEDDINGS needs to be your choice.  We have zero regrets choosing them and only wish we could do it all over again!

When Nick and I decided to have a destination wedding in Mexico I had simultaneous feelings of elation and dread. Elation because what could be more gorgeous than having a wedding on the beach in Mexico surrounded by loved ones? Dread because how in the world was I going to pull this off this gorgeous beach wedding from hundreds and hundreds of miles away?

Enter Fresea Weddings.

The day I found Kristee from Freasa Weddings it felt like a thousand pounds were lifted from my shoulders. I should note here that up until this point I had tried to plan the wedding myself and had gone as far as reserving the venue and Chapel, but after this was constantly running into road blocks. It was everything from language barriers and cultural barriers to not getting called back and not having my visions understood. I started having nightmares that the wedding would be a disaster until I spoke with Kristee.

At our initial Skype chat she really took the time to understand the overall look and vibe I was trying to accomplish. From there she really took the ball and ran with it. Within weeks she was sending me pictures and ideas for flowers, decorations, dessert tables, cakes, music, dance floors, etc. What had once seemed like wedding impossible finally was becoming wedding possible!

The things I really loved about working with Kristee was that she took all the worry out of my hands. She dealt with all the vendors directly and set up delivery times, placement of decor, etc. She also mapped out a day-of-plan from the moment I woke up to the moment the wedding ended, so everyone from the bridal party, to the DJ, to hair and make-up, to the servers knew what they had to do and when they had to do it. Literally all I had to do on my wedding day was wake up and the rest was taken care of.

Speaking of the wedding day, there really are no words to say how beautiful our wedding turned out (and I’m not just saying this because it was our wedding). Somehow, Kristee turned my vision into a reality that was even better than I had dreamed possible. Words can’t do it justice so you will have to look at the picture to take my word for it. Everything to the smallest detail was beyond my expectations. All my guests told me it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to. And beyond the esthetics, it was also fun! Kristee set up two lounge areas next to the dance floor so people could rest before jumping back into the party. And literally the dance floor was packed from the first song to the last. It was truly a magical day that we will remember forever.

So if you are planning a wedding in the Rivera Maya it would be a crime to pass Fresa Weddings and Kristee up. Beyond her talents for design, organization, coordination and attention to detail Kristee has the key element anyone would want in a wedding planner: a strong listener.

When planning our wedding with Kristee it didn’t feel like I was working with a corporation who was going to give me a cookie cutter beach destination wedding, it felt like I was working with a friend who was listening to what I really wanted and truly cared about making our dream wedding into a reality.

Kristee was a positive and supportive force in planning our beach wedding in Tulum, Mexico. Greg & I had visited Tulum on two previous occasions, and we already had somewhat of a vision for our wedding. As well, my Mom is a wedding planner so I had very high expectations, of which Kristee met them all.
Always enthusiastic, communicative and incredibly caring, it was apparent she truly cared for us well before we even met in person. She’s sincere and joyful and made me feel as if she was planning a wedding for one of her closest friends. I found Fresa wedding’s website while “Googling” for wedding ideas. I knew right away I had to figure out how to have a Fresa wedding! Kristee was always replying quickly to my numerous e-mails and she was always available to set up phone calls. Her personality and enthusiasm made the wedding planning a breeze. She was able to create our vision while staying in our budget, even with our unexpected last minute change of venue due to the Grand Coral Beach Club fire.  Her ability to communicate so easily made delivering bad news seem like it was good news. This is true customer service at its best. She greeted us at our resort when we arrived in Mexico. Our family loved her instantly. On the wedding day, the venue was perfect! “everything went just how i imagined it would!”

“So Fresa weddings was a great choice! From the first email, Kristee responded super quickly and with great enthusiasm, which is pretty rare in Mexico! I actually think she might have been the only wedding coordinator to reply the same day, and where that wasn’t possible she gave an explanation (eg on a site visit) saying when she’d be back in the office.She took the vague ideas I had of what i wanted and turned them into something far better than i’d imagined. I had such a vague idea of colour scheme and specific details and she brought it all together into something much more coherent.
She was super calm, even when i changed my venue one month before the wedding (!) and it was great to meet with her on a site visit so i could try to visualise what we were talking about. On the night she was working hard in the background managing all the little(and big details) and checking in with me to make sure i hadn’t gone crazy (super nervous). You can tell she works really hard, and that she cares about what she does, and i was able to relax knowing that she had everything under control.

Hi everyone!

Just got married last week on May 24th!  The only word I can think of is “Magical”!

Fresa Weddings was “on it” from beginning til end.  Kristee and her team took care of all the little details and kept us running on schedule.  Me and my groom were stress free!

We were relaxed and enjoyed our wedding with our guests and didn’t worry about anything.  Everything went off without a hitch; the fireshow on the beach, the mariachi band, the surprise flash mob choir at the ceremony, even the lanterns as a grand finale were beatiful!

My husband and I were recently married in the Riviera Maya and had the pleasure of working with a fabulous wedding planner, Kristee from  Fresa Weddings. (kristee@fresaweddings.com)

Our story began like most, wanting to marry in a beautiful, meaningful location. We are in our late 50’s and have travelled to the Tulum Corridor since the 80’s. We have seen many weddings at the all- inclusive resorts and they just seemed to be missing something and cookie cutter.  Knowing the area well, speaking passable Spanish and having friends living there, we embarked on this venture alone.  “This should be simple” was my thinking but wow was I wrong! We ran into vendors not returning calls, going out of business, contacts leaving one venue and not relaying information to the next employee, deposits not recorded by vendors. It was overwhelming and a disaster just 2 months before the wedding.  I was spending more time just verifying information had been received by the vendors then moving forward on new plans. Enter Kristee…..what a God send!

I contacted her and placed it all in her hands (which was very difficult for me to give up planning to anyone).  She made it so easy.  Within 2 weeks, she had conducted a site visit and came up with a workable plan to get back on track.  She found vendors with a much better price point for us, confirmed with prior vendors, tracked our deposits we had already made, hired musicians and fired vendors that just were not working out.  The list goes on and on as to what she did to ensure a fabulous wedding.  All her communications were upbeat, positive, and informative and she responded to most within 24 hours! Everything she said she would do, she did! The ideas she brought to our event put the finishing touches on the day!  Wow, does she have spunk and a magnetic personality.

On our wedding day, she and the team worked tirelessly in the sun, all day! She designed our wedding tables and the wedding altar. She even raked sand to ensure perfection in the photos. Our suite was decorated, which she orchestrated (unbeknown to us).  Kristee, worked closely behind the scenes to keep the staff at the resort on track, she handled any requests we threw her way with such grace and professionalism.   The photographer Melody was fabulous!  She captured our day beautifully and with such perfection.  What a wonderful wedding we had, thanks to Kristee and Melody.

“WOW!  One word to describe Kristee.  I have been putting off writing this review because I can’t find the words that would clearly explain how fabulous Kristee and her staff are.  We renewed our vows on June 12th after 30 years.  When we were first married, we didn’t have much, but after 30 years with this man, we earned an event of our dreams.  Kristee gave us that and so much more.  I called because Kristee is the only planner out doing Sky Lanterns and ladies if you haven’t seen them, you must check it out.  They are unbelievable and your guests will talk about your wedding for years.  She responded quickly and was very willing to help.  You see I thought I had planned my whole wedding myself and didn’t need a wedding planner. I couldn’t of been more wrong, had I not hired Kristee my wedding would of been a disaster.  This is Mexico and things work different than in the States.   Kristee talked with me for a long time making sure she understood my vision and budget.  One of the many great things about Fresa is that they have many sites in which to choose from so your no locked down to the rules a big chain hotel.  She explored every possible avenue for me.  From riding in on a horse, to my fire dancers ( who were unbelievable by the way.  Imagine cirque du soleil meets fire) music, dinner, dancing, decorations (also incredible I don’t know who made them but they were just beautiful) finishing the evening with the lanterns.  How did I ever think I could be the bride and coordinate all the events of the evening at the same time.  We ended up having our day at the Grand Coral.  It is a beautiful private location.  So you don’t have to end your party a certain time because of other guests at the hotel.  Our dinner was served on the beach and after all the festivities everyone went swimming in the pool..what a perfect way to end the night.  Kristee’s team made everything run smooth.  I just had to enjoy my day and family.  Kristee has you covered even when something doesn’t go quite right,  she always has a back up.  I hired myself a guitarist to play during the cocktail hour and dinner. Well he didn’t show, Kristee stepped right in, she knew it might happen and had our DJ there early and ready to play. Our guest never knew. Kristee saved the evening.

Kristee is professional, caring and passionate.  She lives to see that you have the day of your dreams!

Kristee, if your reading this, Thank you from a place deep in my heart.  Our day was everything we hoped for and more.  And no that your not my wedding planner anymore, I proud to call you my new friend. Thank you, thank you, thank you“

Kristee, “We LOVED our wedding at Secrets Capri, thanks to you!!!! You did a superb job!!! Your attention to detail was terrific and gave me a great deal of comfort! I thoroughly enjoyed the BBQ set up on Thursday evening, followed by the MOST FABULOUS sarapes for warmth as we went to the beach for FUN and S’MORES 🙂 !!!! The torches added great flair and it was enjoyed by all!!!!!!!!!!!! I was soooo sad that I left before the amazing moon rise that I heard so much about!!!! Friday’s rehearsal dinner was VERY SPECIAL!!!!! The setup was perfect and the food DELICIOUS!!!! How could we ask for more? The evening was very classy and FUN as I look back on it. Everyone enjoyed it so very much! The atmosphere was warm and elegant and again,…I was so grateful for our PERFECT wedding coordinator! You kept me calm and cool 🙂 THE BIG DAY was SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!!!!! The rain and weather in general were totally cooperative to allow the ceremony to continue outside. The setup was truly beautiful (I am a little prejudice) but it was truly wonderful!!! The cross was PERFECT also. The cocktail party was so much fun and DELICIOUS appetizers. All bars were so very well done! The Flop Shop I loved and appreciated so very much your distributing the flip flops for me to a good cause. You just simply added so much detail that was of immense assistance. The food at the reception was terrific…the cakes…over the top…especially the groom’s cake! It was PERFECT! We also LOVED the delicious and WONDERFUL cake for Dr. DeVorkin’s birthday. I hope that you received the duffle bag and trunk that we left behind the photographer’s desk setup. The reception went very well also. The groomsmen were great entertainment. The DJ did a great job and was VERY accommodating! You just never know how things work out but everyone has commented on how much fun they had in your lovely setting from beginning to end. I have bragged to everyone how WONDERFUL our wedding coordinator was. I would recommend our experience to anyone!!!! Thanks for the opportunity to share!!! If you are ever in Houston…we have a waiting list of people who would love for you to stay with them…starting with the Cards!!! I just can’t ever begin to thank you for everything. Every time I came to you with a question or concern about how something would play out, you would just smile and say “It’s taken of care of.” or “Great! We’ll do that”. And then I never had to worry again. The welcome dinner and bonfire on the beach was AMAZING!!! The way it was decorated, the blankets, the torches, everything. I’ll never forget that night. Everyone just raved about it. The rehearsal dinner was so elegant. And the ceremony went off without a hitch. The reception was amazing. The DJ was great. It was just all so surreal. James and I have been so sad since we’ve gotten home because we want to do that weekend over and over again. It was just magical. Kristee, thank you so much for everything. It sounds weird but I miss you and hope I can just send an email now and then to see how you’re doing. I saw you on Ryan’s Facebook and was like, “Wait a second, she’s MY friend first!” Ha! “I have seen Fresa Weddings work and I am a believer. I see many wedding planners come and go since we have a venue. So I know a good one when I see one. The critical factors for a wedding planner in my humble opinion are that they actually like what they do, that they look out for the bride and understand the venue and the area they work in and how the vendors operate.
